Meet Bruce

For the past 28 years, I’ve lived in Iowa City and have applied considerable talent and compassion to support those in our community who need resources and understanding during difficult times.  I appreciate living in this city because it is very culturally diverse but there have been and are still times in which I have felt isolated and marginalized. Where I felt I had to work around the clock because I was not making a livable wage. Where I have seen the need for affordable housing and felt the challenge to obtain it within the city. Where I have felt like I was being stereotyped before a person would even ask my name. As a member of the city council, I feel that decisions are made that enacting policy which impacts the lives of everyone in the city. And people living here need to feel like their voice is being heard and that we want to be here to make their lives better. Right now I feel many voices have gone unheard, misunderstood, and unrelatable to those making decisions.

It’s time to change that and bring “All Voices At The Table”.
